Adult Scholastic Book Fair
Join us at the Cambridge Crossing taproom to relive the joy and wonder of a Scholastic Book Fair. We're teaming up with More Than Words, a local bookstore and nonprofit, to bring you the nostalgia of the book fair with a local flair, more age-appropriate books for adults, and curated book & beer pairings!
At More Than Words, youth ages 16-24 who are in foster care, experiencing homelessness, out-of-school, or in the court system, learn to run an online and retail bookstore while also getting full wrap-around supports to tackle the barriers from our state systems and take charge of their lives. Each purchase from the book fair will support this mission!
Browse the stacks, grab a beer, and chat with other book lovers!
Lamplighter // More Than Words: Beer & Book Pairings
Alpenglow – God of the Woods Set at a summer camp in Maine, God of the Woods is a haunting generational mystery that echoes the earthy roots of Alpenglow’s Maine-grown malts. This amber ale is the perfect companion for a New England adventure that lingers long after the last page—and the last sip.
Radio Waves – Atmosphere This zesty, smooth Hazy IPA pairs beautifully with Atmosphere, a lyrical and otherworldly tale set during the 1980s Space Shuttle program. Both the beer and the book explore the extraordinary lengths we go to live, love, and reach beyond our limits—one sip and one sentence at a time.
Birds of a Feather – Remarkably Bright Creatures Bold, juicy, and full of heart—this New England-style IPA is a perfect match for Remarkably Bright Creatures. Birds of a Feather, inspired by the Phish song of the same name, and RBC featuring one wicked smart octopus- this pairing is a celebration of curiosity, connection, and unexpected friendships.
Rabbit Rabbit – The Man Who Died Twice Double the hops, double the mystery. This New England-style Double IPA pairs with The Man Who Died Twice for a ride that’s bold, juicy, and endlessly entertaining. With velvety prose and twists that keep on giving, this duo will have you coming back for more—again and again.
