Frequently Asked Questions

do you take reservations?

We do not take reservations at either of our taprooms – both spaces are all first come first serve. We do offer full buy-outs of our back taproom at Broadway, intended for groups of 50 – 100, and upstairs or downstairs at CX, intended for groups of up to 180. If you’re interested in either offering, please fill out this form and a member of our team will be in touch shortly!

do you serve food?

Pepita Coffee Co. serves their cafe menu weekdays until 3:00 pm, and weekends until 2:00 pm at our Broadway taproom. We often have pop up food events in the evenings at Broadway, check out our events calendar for the full schedule. We offer a selection of cheese and charcuterie boards at our CX taproom. You’re always welcome to BYOF, Bring Your Own Food, to either space!

are you kid-friendly?

Please note that our taprooms are 21+ after 5 pm on weekdays and after 2 pm on weekends. Babies and kids are also welcome during our 21+ hours if accompanied by a parent or guardian. While our taprooms are family-friendly, we ask that you use your best judgment when planning a visit with children.

do you have parking?

We do not have dedicated parking at either taproom location. There are many metered and non-metered spots along Broadway, where we are also half a mile from both the Central and Kendall Red Line T Stops, and directly along the Broadway bus route.

Street parking is incredibly limited at our CX location, so we’d suggest walking, biking, Uber-ing, or taking public transport – the Lechmere T-stop is right nearby, the 69 bus runs directly to the area, and there’s a Blue Bike station right next door. There’s also a parking garage at 222 Jacobs Street which offers $10 parking for Lamplighter customers after 11 am Monday – Friday, all day Saturday, and Sunday until 10pm. To get this discounted rate you must validate your parking ticket in the taproom.

what types of IDs do you accept?

In accordance with state and federal regulations, we accept all forms of US government-issued photo ID, including but not limited to passports, driver’s licenses, state IDs, green cards, etc.

If you’re visiting from another country, we strongly encourage you to bring your passport. Alternative forms of non-US photo ID (e.g., driver’s licenses, passport cards, etc.) are considered on a case by case basis at the discretion of the staff on duty – it’s best to bring a form of identification with a photo.

what payment methods do you accept?

We take cash, card, Apple Pay, and Google Pay.

are you dog-friendly?

Sadly MA health code won’t permit our furry friends in any indoor taproom areas. Pups are welcome at our brewery retail area if you’re just grabbing beer to go. In fact, we have a delicious bowl of treats waiting for them there… Dogs are also welcome in our outdoor seating areas at our Cambridge Crossing taproom, those areas are open seasonally.

can you fill growlers?

We are not currently filling growlers of beer. We do, however, have lots of cans and bottles available to-go at our walk-up retail window.

do you have gluten-free options, wine, seltzer, or cider?

We are only allowed to sell what we brew on premise, which at the moment is only beer: no cider, seltzer, wine, or gluten-free beer. We do have non-alcoholic kombucha, non-alcoholic seltzer, and cold-brew for our gluten-free friends.

do you support grassroots orgs, nonprofits, fundraisers, or charitable causes?

We support non-profits and grassroots organizations through our quarterly partnership program. We’ll begin accepting applications for our 2024 Partnership Program in September, 2023. Add your name to this list to be notified when applications open.

can I purchase kegs for my home / office?

Yes! Please fill out the form found here, and we’ll get back to you shortly with availability.

are you hiring?

Check out our current openings on the jobs page of our website. Even when we’re not actively hiring, we’re always happy to have resumes on file. If you’re interested in staying updated on job opportunities, please send us a note at [email protected]

do you ever create custom beers for companies, individuals, or events?

Our custom label program allows groups, companies, and event hosts the opportunity to create their very own beer name and label to feature on one of Lamplighter’s Cambridge-made craft beers – ideal for corporate events, restaurants and bars, weddings, employee appreciation, and beyond! For more information, get in touch with Emma: [email protected].
