Who We Are: A brewery and taproom located in downtown Cambridge, focused on quality, creativity, community, and craft. Our products include aroma- and flavor-driven beers, with an emphasis on New England IPAs, barrel-aged sours, and special seasonals. We never shy away from funk, twists on tradition, and unique ingredients, and we are a collaborative, passionate, and fun-loving team.

The Position: Lamplighter barbacks are assistants to the bartenders. They are responsible for keeping the taproom clean and organized, washing and drying glassware, refilling snacks and water, changing kegs, and helping out with service in whatever way is necessary. Barbacks are also trained to manage the taproom door, and are responsible for maintaining a safe and comfortable taproom capacity and environment. In this capacity, the barback should be able to control the taproom crowds and flow, mediate a confrontation with any customers and/or Lamplighter staff, and maintain the taproom rules and regulations as they pertain to underage drinking, closing hours, city and state laws, and intoxication.

What We Teach You: New staff will be trained to manage crowd capacity and interact with intoxicated customers. All employees are also provided with a working knowledge of general beer and brewing, and a complete understanding of Lamplighter’s history, operations, policies, and procedures.

No experience required. No background check required.

  • Starting Wage: $9/hr + tips (~$18/hr expected total wage)

  • FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

  • Start Date: February. Part-Time and Full-Time positions available, must be

    available weekends.
